Hitting the Road

We left Del Pueblo Resort on morning of Thursday July 30th.  We had a few errands to run and had to go over to Rivers Edge to put a deposit down for reservation in October.  Their office wasn't open yet so we went over to Paradise Casino for breakfast.  I was playing the Tarzan slot and hit the Grand Jackpot which was $10,000.00.  Unbelievable!!  So we waited for payout and decided to call U haul and cancel rental of car hauler and to go buy new one at Reliable Trailers in Yuma. Well it took all day at Reliable trailer to hook it up and all the wiring etc so we decided to stay another night at West Wind RV Resort and leave in am.

Friday July 31st we headed out at approx. 5:30 am. we got to Needles and the trailer had no tire left on the front right j and back left just rim.  We pulled into a Flying J Truck stop that had a tire center. We had all new tires put on at their recommendation, cost us $900.

We spent night at Needles as is was a record hot day of 125 degrees.  It was very hot in RV and animals about died from heat.  Got up Saturday August 1st headed out again, got less than 100 miles and two tires again were just rim.  We called the tire place and they said there was another Flying J 35 miles to limp in there.  Mind you this is all in the Nevada/Utah mountain canyons with many downgrades of 6% and big climbs.  In the RV you couldn't even notice no tires or a flat it just kept pulling it no problem.  The second tire replacement we did not have to pay as they were under warranty, but it was felt that the wiring was the cause of all the trouble, so we disconnected all wiring from trailer to RV for rest of the 400 miles to go.  We had no further issues with tires but had no lights etc.

We were scheduled to arrive at Roy Utah around 1:00 that afternoon when we left in the am, but with all the tire delays we ended up getting there at 8:00 pm with my brother Ben and his family holding dinner for us.  It was a very warm and welcoming reunion.  It felt like we had known each other all our lives and here we had just met for first time.  I can't explain the immediate connection and commonalities that are there.  I feel very blessed to have a brother and he has a wonderful family that we just loved instantly.  We have been talking almost daily by phone for over a month so we knew some about each other,

We are staying at Hill AFB Fam Camp which is very close to where Ben lives.  Can stay here 14 days then will move to Century RV Resort for two weeks then probably back here to the base for last 14 days of September.  We will all leave for Oregon to the Family reunion in Eugene with all our cousins and family on our dads side.  I am hopeful that our children Kyp and Preston can come with their families.  I know our granddaughter Sierra cannot come as she is having a baby then.  Our cousin Jeanie is who helped Ben find me as she knew his story and they both had done the DNA testing. Jeanie got help from my cousin Linda who found me on FB.  It has been an amazing journey so far and we are blessed to have found each other as Ben and his mom and family are from Samoa.  Here are a few pictures we have taken so far.
