Wow!! No More Life as We Knew it!

We never thought we would see this in our lifetime, the grandparents talked about it many years ago and said it would happen.  We have had many challenges the last few months, what with my heart attack and infection in my toe and lots of appointments.  Sunday the 29th of March we were at cookies for tacos and cards and Drew had a stroke and had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital.  There was a stroke specialist on teleconference with the team here and they administered the drug to stop the stroke and got it within the 45 min window.  His stroke was the left brain clot and has effected his right side. His right side is numb and his vision on right eye has no periferal vision.  He can walk and get around pretty good his leg drags, he leans and his balance isn't great.  Have been walking to end of our street every day, and getting lots of rest.  Could take up to 12-18 months to improve or may not improve.  We are on strick diets of course and trying to follow them as best we can.  Doing fairly well with it. 
It really sucked when he was in hospital as after he got moved from ER to ICU I wasn't allowed in hospital and only contact was by phone with him.  No doctor or nurse ever called me, and I left messages to talk to them.  They discharge him and let him leave the ward on his own, he got lost trying to find his way out, then came out wrong door.  I have talked with the administrator and advocate to find out how and why they let a confused stroke patient loose without and escort.  And why did they not notify his wife of his condition and status.  This has been a nightmare.  Completely ridiculous.  The only doctor we ever talked to was the Stroke Specialist on the teleconference from Texas and he acted quickly and told us what was going on, but after that no one has ever spoken to us about what to expect , recovery, damage, what to do, how long it might take, nothing at all.
We had all better get use to this new way of life, because life as we knew it is over.  This is the new world order now. Its going to get worse as people are going to be desperate cause they can't pay rent or feed their family.  We know people already that can't pay their bills as they haven't worked for going on two months now.  Its going to get bad. Wish my family all lived close by, I worry about them

Closing Out the Year

     We are glad indeed to be at the end of 2015.  not one of our better years for sure.  We just wondered aimlessly this past year making one bad decision after another.  It seems since we had to leave Las Vegas when Andrew became sick we have been lost.  Our life was completely changed in a 6-8 month period very dramatically. It was very overwhelming for us and we had made good friendships and lasting bonds with people there in our community.  That was suppose to be our forever home.  Since leaving Vegas we have been to California, Oregon, Corpus Christie TX, Hawaii, and back to Oregon again. I am almost certain that we are home in Oregon to stay.  We may go for a few months in winter someplace but plan to stay here. We simply don't have the energy or desire to go again. Summer Season

     Well we are off to a great summer here on the Oregon Coast! It has been a busy month for us as we moved from Ft. Stevens south to Tillamook county Park.  We have been enjoying the change and the park here, and an opportunity presented itself for us to manage another RV park close by also in Tillamook ( Wilson River RV Park ).  The park came under new ownership and he was given our names as somebody who could be his managers of the park.  We met with him last week and accepted the position.  The park has been neglected for the last year as it was being held by the bank and a property management company was overseeing the park.  Nothing a little elbow grease and few repairs can't fix.  It is a prime location for fishing and hunting as it sits right on the river, and of course there is all the attractions of the coast and Tillamook here as well.  We are excited for the challenge of this new adventure. Our Plans are like Jello Sometimes it just doesn't set!

 We had a change of plans, and came to California where we decided to sell the motor home.  We didn't expect it to sell in two days time.  We arrived to San Clemente on the 1st of December and sold motor home on 3rd.  We rented an apartment in the downtown (1 block over from Main Street Del Mar) area close to the beach.  We had a great holiday with some of the family and Shawn was home also.  We are enjoying being close to family and our new great grand baby is absolutely adorable.  She is the happiest baby I've ever seen.  We have gotten all our medical appointments under way and scheduled and it feels good to be in one place settled again.  We're enjoying walking the beach everyday and all the little shops and restaurants.  Don't miss the motor home it was a lot of stress for us and after Drew's stroke was just too much to handle.  We did enjoy our trips through the summer and made good use of it.  So now we are in San Clemente for at least a year we signed a leas
