Hot! Hot! Hot!

We have reached that time here in Yuma of hottest part of the summer July and August.  We have been staying cool indoors and at the pool.  Went to California the last week of May and first week of June as Kyp and chance went to see Shawn in Okinawa.  Helped take care of the dogs and house with Sierra and Hunter.  Drew stayed home with our animals for the 10 days.  It was a long 10 days apart, no more of that.  Did have fun with Sierra and Hunter.  Took Hunter (great grandson) to the San Diego Safari Park, we had a great time. See photos below:  The day I returned to Yuma we had a summer pot luck that Drew and I hosted for the park.  Got home that night and next day was summer party so had to go early to club house to decorate and get everything ready, and go buy the rest of the food we needed.  Drew cooked the hamburgers and hot dogs and most people brought a side dish to share.  Had everything decorated in summer beach theme, and had some summer type games to play as well.  Had a huge turn out over 100 people. Drew has been working hard in the park two days a week, residents say in the 13 years or how ever many they have been here, they have never seen it look so good. He hears compliments like that from everyone.  They just love him and his work.  He did the floors in the club house which took him two days and they were absolutely glowing and beautiful. Most of his work is outside with landscaping and irrigation stuff.  He dug wells all around the tree's for water.  He also does a lot of extra stuff for the widows in the park who don't have a husband to do the chores.  He enjoys helping them out.  As for me I stay busy with my sewing and crafting projects, plus I am doing bible journaling now which I just love. Some of my pages are listed on the web page.  Check them out!!  I have also gotten back into stampin up as a demonstrator and will do some stamp camps this season.  I am also the head of the craft fairs here in the park once a month so have been working on that and what vendors we have and table we need ect... Plus I will do a line dance class starting in October thru till March.
The VA came and evaluated our home for things to upgrade to make it more accessible for me with my disabilities, as they are progressively getting worse.  My balance is an issue and I am a fall risk, can't get up and down good.  So things like handles by the toilet and showers, walk in tub, ramp outside. Those are just some things they have a whole list of stuff.  We go to Tuscon on 23rd of this month to go over the plans they have.  Our park model hasn't sold yet. Guess we will be renting it again this season.  Not much else to tell we don't see our family much so its just the two of us and we hang out with all our fellow resident pals here in our community.  We are going on a raft trip next Friday about 15 of us. We have water volleyball three times a week and play cards and have sun downers at the pool three times a week.  We don't play pickleball any more to much a risk for falling. Just do water aerobics and water volleyball.  Well that's about it for this month will see what August brings.
