"Keeping Cool"

     We were beginning to wonder why we came here for the weather?  They have had cold weather since we arrived, like record freezing weather.  But after two weeks of cold the sun finally came and it has been absolutely beautiful now, just what we ordered.  Sierra and the baby arrived safe and sound, and her stuff from Kentucky came just two days later so she was able to put the baby's room together.  She finally got to go through all the baby shower stuff and actually see what she had, plus her own stuff.  She has been having fun fixing up her part of the house.  I think we are finally settled in now.  Hunter is the best baby, he is so happy all the time and only makes a fuss when he is hungry or needs changed.  He is very active for being just two months old, and he sleeps through the night.  The dogs are so protective, every time he makes a sound they are there to see what going on.  When he is on the floor to play they each bring him a toy and lay it by him.  Marmalade is going

     After miles and miles of miles and miles we made it through Texas.  Of course nothing is ever easy for us and we hit record ice storms from Arizona through most all of Texas. For almost three days we couldn't go faster than 30 mph.  From East of El Paso to Corpus Christi there wasn't a motel to be had so we drove 27 hours straight thru.  Oh did I mention all of the towns were also out of gas? or so they said, after going to 6-8 different stations across three towns and 80 mile stretch, we thought no way.  then we remembered how in Florida when there were hurricanes the stations would say they were out and cover pump handles so next am they could raise prices.  So when we came to yet another town and no gas and we were on fumes and NO motels we took a cover off a pump ran our card and guess what we filled up and continued on in a hurry before anyone came out to tell us we couldn't do that.  We did that twice over the next two days thru Texas.  Also gas is very cheap her
